Dr Manikandan is Professor with CORI (Crucible of Research and Innovation) a center for interdisciplinary exploration and Department of Telecom at PESIT. He gained rich exposure to design related to avionics and spacecraft systems during his stints at Indian Space Research Organization and as a scientist at Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA).
He received Young Engineer Award (2013) from the Institution of Engineers (India). He has one patent filing to his credit. He has published 35+ papers in International Journals/Conferences and has received 125+ citations with h-index and i10-index as 7 for his research papers. Some of the papers have received best paper awards. Three of his research papers published in reputed International Journals were listed in the Top 25 hottest articles ranking 3rd (IET Signal Processing), 8th (Elsevier Microprocessor and Microsystems), and 22nd (Elsevier Neurocomputing). He is regularly invited to deliver lectures on topics related to signal processing.
He is currently working on three funded projects. His research topics include support vector machines, pattern recognition techniques related to speech, image and automatic target recognition and DSP/FPGA based system design. He is currently working on design of wired and wireless systems, design of reconfigurable systems and wireless power transfer.
Digital Circuit Design Using Support Vector Machines. In this paper, a novel attempt is made to study, assess and design digital circuits using two-class and multi class support vector machine.
He graduated in engineering from Madras University, and completed masters in Communication Systems from National Institute of Technology, Trichy. He pursued his doctoral studies in Electronics and Communication Engineering at NIT, Trichy.
