Event Management: The dynamic nature of event industry is encapsulated across the semesters. Live projects, real time learning and activity based pedagogy helps students to learn creative presentations, vendor management, sponsorship negotiations and media narratives.
Food & Beverage Services: Food and beverage services sector contributes a great deal to the profits in hospitality industry with new trends and new concepts. The syllabus covers the entire gamut of the trade in relation to operating and managing outlets to wine & beverage education and dining etiquettes.
Culinary Arts & Management: A critical arm of the hospitality industry, the course comprises of food culture & sustainability, cuisines of the world, patisserie and confectionery in addition to cost management and kitchen planning.
Accommodation Management: The syllabus entails students to learn about cleanliness and hygiene practices in modern workspaces along with understanding the aesthetics of floristry and infrastructural design elements.
Front Office: A core subject in the hospitality curriculum and offered across all six semesters. The course deals with personality development, guest engagement, customer satisfaction, up selling techniques and room aggregation. The subject also focuses on case studies, role plays and critical operational aspects of the domain. Revenue management is the backbone of the specialization offering.

Similarly, the internship opportunities provided to our students every year to participate in a three-month cultural exchange program at Walt Disney World® Resort. Florida gives them international event exposure while studying.
Our program offers the foundational courses in theory, history, practical and methods, yet allows for flexibility of individual interest areas. As a result, the program prepares students for a variety of careers.

THE BBA-HEM DEPARTMENT STARTED IN THE YEAR 1994 IN PES. THE DEPARTMENT RUNS ITS OWN 16 – ROOM HOTEL AND HAS A WELL EQUIPPED KITCHEN, BAR AND RESTAURANT FOR THE STUDENTS TO LEARN AND PERFECT THEIR SKILLS. THE DEPARTMENT HAS MAINTAINED A RECORD OF 100% PLACEMENTS SINCE 2006.

The Curriculum Design for our BBA-HEM program offers dual specializing in hotel and event management, is tailored to equip students with a deep understanding of the unique dynamics of the hospitality and event industries. Core business subjects such as Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Economics and Management are complemented by specialized courses focusing on hotel operations, event planning, catering management, and guest services.
The Teaching-Learning Process in these specialized programs incorporates experiential learning methods such as internships, industry projects, and simulated scenarios to provide hands-on exposure to real-world challenges and opportunities.
Research component becomes an integral part of the program. Assessments within the program includes evaluations of event planning projects, hotel management simulations, case studies, and industry-specific examinations.
Skill Development and Certifications based on industry standards are embedded with the program requirements. Moreover, students benefit from extensive exposure to the hospitality and event sectors through guest lectures, industry visits, and collaborations with professionals and organizations in the field.
Clubs & Activities, You Can Get Involved
Chef Club: For those students who are passionate about food and everything related to it, the chef club offers an opportunity to learn new skills, hone existing skills and display their talents through entrepreneurial activities, food festivals and events.
Entrepreneurship Club: Conceptualized to encourage entrepreneurship among students, this club organizes weekly entrepreneurial activities wherein the students plan the activity, organize the funds and conduct the activity which earns them profits
Events Club: The Event Club ‘Catalyst” is a student driven endeavour to nurture and promote talent in the young minds and an opportunity for the students to organise and execute events of all nature in and outside the campus and to learn all the facets of the trade.
CSR Club: In keeping with the University’s ideology of giving back to the society, the department of Hospitality & Event Management has a College Social responsibility club which undertakes activities beneficial to the society. All activities are completely philanthropic in nature and are aimed at developing altruistic attributes in the students
Barista Club: Mixology, flaring, gueridon, these are the skills that are developed in the students who are part of the barista club. Bartending has now become a performance art and is a skill that is much desired by the industry today. Bartending courses with certification are taught to members of the club. The club members are also encouraged to put these skills to use at events and functions organized by the department and also for clients outside.
